Why I'm Moving To The Lake District

For as long as I can remember, I've always felt most at home outdoors.

Whether it's camping, road trips, hiking, fishing, or simply exploring somewhere new, I've always been drawn to places where life feels a little slower and a little more connected to nature. Over the last few years, that feeling has only become stronger.

While converting my VW T6.1 campervan, I started thinking seriously about what I wanted my future to look like. Not what I was expected to do, but what would genuinely make me happy.

The answer kept bringing me back to one place: the Lake District.

The Lake District has everything I love, Mountains, lakes, forests, endless walking routes, incredible scenery, and a strong outdoor community. Every time I've visited, I've left feeling motivated, refreshed, and inspired.

Moving there isn't about running away from anything, it's about moving towards something.

I want to spend more time outdoors, I want to wake up surrounded by nature. I want easier access to hiking trails, wild camping trips, photography locations, and new adventures. Most importantly, I want to build a lifestyle that matches the things I genuinely enjoy doing.

The campervan is a huge part of that journey.

What started as a van conversion project has become something much bigger (to me). The van represents freedom, adventure, and the ability to explore without needing expensive hotels or complicated plans. It gives me the opportunity to travel, discover new places, and document the journey along the way.

Through CamperLineUK, I've been sharing every step of the process online. The highs, the mistakes, the challenges, and the lessons I've learned while building the van. The support from people following the journey has been incredible and I couldn't thank everyone enough.

Moving to the Lake District won't happen overnight. There is still plenty of work to do first, finishing the van, growing CamperLineUK, building my savings, and giving myself the best shot I can.

But every week I get a little closer.

This isn't just a move. It's part of a bigger plan to create a life built around adventure, freedom, and doing more of the things I love.

And it's only just getting started.
